Cheap Car Insurance & Children

One of my friends has recently bought a new car and has taken out insurance with a different company after having a few problems with the insurer that she had been with for quite some years. As a result of her loyalty, she had not had to fill in a new application for some time and was a little shocked about some of the questions that were asked. I was also a little shocked about one of them – do any children ride with you in the car?

After a little research, I found that there are quite a few insurers out there that ask this question now, justifying it by stating that children are often a distraction. Personally I think the reason is more discrimination because it is a way of putting up premiums for families.
