Warning: Getting Insurance to Suit You

A recent report by the FSA (Financial Services Authority) has raised issues that have been widely reported in the press concerning the validity of using insurance comparison sites. Everyone knows that they allow people to see various quotes from a huge variety of providers, including mainstream and specialist providers of home insurance, motorbike insurance, van insurance and cheap car insurance. Most people view comparison sites as positive because they encourage competition and empower consumers to find insurance that is well within their budget rather than stretching it to the limits. However, there have been incidence that prove it does not always work for people.

The FSA had received reports of comparison sites pushing policies on individual drivers or homeowners that were inappropriate.

More and more Florida residents are purchasing scooters to get them around as gas prices increase and economic times stay tough.  A scooter is different from a motorcycle in the sense that they have a step through design where a rider can sit on the seat with their feet flat on a floorboard.  Their engines are also closer to the rear wheel.

Check Your Insurance Cover Before New Insurance Ruling

The Motor Insurance Database has urged the car owners to check their registration with them and be insured through car insurance supermarket. The firm is also working with different UK insurance providers like Allianz, Aviva, Zurich and RSA to check the details of their customers recording in their database.

The car owners can themselves check their car registration number logged with MID online and in case the car owners do not find their car registered with MID, they can contact their insurance provider immediately to update the records. This will help the MID in correctly updating the data and avoid any warning letter to be sent to the car insurance owner by mistake.
The launch of new Continuous Insurance scheme by June 2011 makes it compulsory for the car owner to have protective insurance cover for their car whether you are driving on road or keeping in garage.
