Cheap Car Insurance & Fuel Costs
Written by Zachary Jones on January 22, 2011 – 8:34 amHands up everyone who happens to think that the current cost of petrol is disgusting! Yes, me too. With petrol costs rising and wages remaining low, it is going to get so much more difficult to keep your car on the road, even if you can get cheap car insurance premiums by comparing insurance right here online at Powerseeker. However, there are things you can do to keep your fuel consumption as low as possible and therefore save money on fuel.
The first thing is to remove anything from your car that you do not need. For example, if you keep anything heavy in there then it actually makes your car heavier and uses more fuel. Similarly, you can keep your tyres fully inflated to reduce fuel consumption. Avoid taking unecessary journeys as well.

What coverage do you need to protect your car from damage due to flood, wind, and storm surge?
Written by Christina Williams on January 21, 2011 – 5:30 amWhat if you have to evacuate and leave a car behind to face nature’s fury? Are you covered?
Another police car rolls down the street, urging you to evacuate. You have loaded all the vital papers and family pictures into the van, and your wife is in the passenger seat urging the kids to buckle up. It is time to leave, and as you back out of the drive you realize there are two cars left behind. “I hope I’m covered…” runs through your mind as you join the line of evacuees on the slow march to higher ground.

Auto Insurance Fraud in New York City
Written by Zachary Jones on January 21, 2011 – 4:51 amAccording to the article “Insurance Study Sees Widespread Fraud in NYC” by Erik Holm, New York City residents are much more likely to file false claims driving up the cost of auto insurance quotes in NYC. This is based on some research conducted by the Insurance Research Council, a nonprofit group funded by insurance companies.
New York state’s “no fault” system was implemented in 1974 and it allows someone injured in a crash to file up to $50,000 worth of claims for medical expenses or even lost wages with their own insurance company regardless of who is at fault. How to Find the Best Auto Insurance Quote
Written by Zachary Jones on January 20, 2011 – 1:37 pm
You might think that the best way to get an affordable auto insurance quote is to talk to your friends and see who is paying the least, but that is not always the case. Much of what you pay for your car insurance is based on a complex algorithm of factors, some of which we have no control over.
When you get an auto insurance quote, the company is basing your premium on your age, your gender, your car, your driving record, where you live and even your credit score. There are also other factors involved, such as how many miles you drive per year and whether or not your car is kept in a garage. Read full article…

Do I need to take my car to the body shop my insurer recommends?
Written by Christina Williams on January 20, 2011 – 7:11 amThere is a body shop owner in my home state that advertises heavily on the radio and TV, advising consumers to avoid the insurance-recommended body shops and bring your car to him instead. In my mind, that raises the question: Why wouldn’t I take my car to the body shop my insurance company recommended?
Auto insurance companies routinely make arrangements with auto body shops. The insurer agrees to direct business to the shop in exchange for a warranty on the work and a reduced cost of repair. This is common in health insurance, too- ever look at your bill and see the “insurance negotiated rate” for a medical procedure? It just isn’t detailed the same way on your auto body estimate!
Does this mean you are getting a sub-par repair? Read full article…
